I wonder if the transference serves another purpose than to show us our wounds and/or past experiences, but is a present coping strategy for managing what we don’t want to face (even if unconsciously) in the present—-current relationships, life circumstances, etc. Can anyone relate to this concept of escape in relation to their therapy relationship? I didn't pretend play like the other children. I didn't know how to do that specially with other children.

These are my resumed signs of autism when I was a child. Most of them got overlooked because the only thing about autism my parents and grandparents knew was about very severe cases of autism. Another factor is that I was born female (I'm trans) and that I masked from a young age.
